isn't this just like a network now?

it is possible but i doubt you would ever get 100% uptime.  there are always problems or cut outs.  not even the best servers offer a 100% uptime.  RackSpace are the only ones i know of and that is because they have backup servers incase of anything happens.
Well, I read that google has released a .dll file that you just install and when you save your files to a certain directory it automatically uploads them to a server. I don't really like that idea myself, I like the feeling of privacy Big Grin
why?  do you have something to hide lol.

i agree, you are open to the elements when you got to the web.
ye if you do it right but even the safest sites are hacked sometimes.  take banks, i am always getting messages saying we have been hacked if you receive an email saying.
No I don't have anything to hide, but idk. lol
In the near feature it could be possible, I've been noticing you don't have to restart your computer after you install some updates, in my pc and computer, I do restart any way, but.
really?

normally i get asked to restart my pc after every windows update.  and if you don't it pops up a message every 10 minutes with a countdown to auto shutdown.  it is hard enough on a server to have 100% so it is going to be even harder on a normal computer.
that is the same to what rackspace do.

it is possible that way but not really economical for a home system.

an alternate to having all your files so you can access them on the web is to purchase some file hosting, a good one will be up all the time and it quite cheap.

or a memory stick?

both work and are a lot cheaper.
Yes, I know of a company that has 3 servers 1- Main Server 2- Backup Servers, that run if the main server shuts down. Big Grin
three times the costs but then again everything if definatly safe if something was to go wrong.
