My combo drive (CR-RW + DVD, Samsung) just got expired and now I am thinking to buy a DVD-RW drive. I dont want to get Samsung because it is not a stable one. Any recommendations for brand and model? Thanks in advance.

can't remember my make on my tower but i always find that they are all the same anyway so any make is ok.

As for model, just get a cheap one with around 16X. It's not worth getting the expensive ones unless you use it for business purposes and make tons of copies.

You might also want to consider an external DVD burner, that way you can use it on any PC that has a USB drive. They aren't that expensive, perhaps only a bit more than an internal one. You can bring it over to friend's house or use it on other computers that you own.
