I have been noticing this for a while now, people seem to be going crazy about the traffic they can get from bookmarking websites such as Digg, stumbleupon etc.
However from what I have observed, the traffic that one gets from these websites is poor in quality. I mean it doesn’t really generate good revenue from ads, neither does it brings too many return users.
What do you feel about this?
The traffic from Stumble upon almost 99% are useless. They are not tagetted traffic. Most of the visitors will stay for few seconds on your website and will leave. They just eat your bandwidth for free. nothing else. Only one percent of the traffic will be targetted.
If you don't want those problems, simply don't promote your websites in such social bookmarking sites.
For people that really want to promote their websites, any kind of traffic is great, is better than nothing. If you already have established sites, getting traffic from such places is not needed.
i have also found it to be useless. you get a burst of people visiting but hardly ever signup or contribute to content.
The traffic coming from StumbleUpon and Del.icio.us is not useless, even though the conversion rate is low but you can always use some CPM banners so that it is a win-win situation for you.
Yes exactly, social bookmarking sites are not that much worthy.
