Well the topic says it all.

What is your favourite CMS and why is it so?

Mine is drupal.  Ever since I started using it a few months back I have been hooked.  Drupal is open source and is a very dynamic system which enables you to creates lots of different styles, sized sites and types of sites.  Whether you want to build a community or ecommerce the are modules which can do it.
The drupal site offers great support in the forums, some great reads in the document sections and a never ending list of plugins and if there isn't one which suits you with php you can build you own!
The templating system is dead is to figure out and the way it is designed allows you to create a wide variation of designs.
The final point is the userability.  i think even the dumbest person could work out how to edit a page it is so simple (especially for clients).  All you do it login, go to the page you want to edit as if you were viewing it normally and select edit which is default located below the title.

i better stop now.starting to sound like a sales person lol.
CMS made simple would be mine. The theming was ULTRA easy, and it comes with preinstalled modules like polls and newsletter systems.
Well, phpNuke used to be my favorite for gaming websites and stuff, but now I haven't really found one that I really really like.
Not really a CMF like Drupal, Joomla,. but I use TinyPortal on my site.
It's actually a portal/CMS modification for SMF, but it works great!
If you've got an SMF forum and want to add some more content I definatly recommend this one.
I usually just write my own.  It evolves and ends up a mess on the admin side lol Tongue
Joomla would be the one to tempt me, though.
Joomla controlls approx 50% of the sites in the Castus portfolio. The main thing that attracted us was the great following in the forums for support and advice. And the fact that there is a module available for almost everything you could ever wish to do with a site!

Planning to try Drupal soon after talking to tyros so I will review and compare both soon.
Joomla for me although Drupal could be worth a try.
talk to me for 10 minutes and i will sell drupal to you Big Grin
i can't remember which cms's i've used, but i think joomla was one of them, i it was fine. i'm actually looking for more light ones. sNews is quite good, but i haven't really tested it seriously yet.
