I think it's a must have if you have a laptop, or even a desktop. All those wires in the back keep on tangling, and you gota be careful what to unplug and so on.

The only downside are the batteries, but just get rechargeable ones and you should be fine.
i disagree, i have a wireless keyboard and i have had several problems:-
- poor battery life and the need to continuously replace them.
- sometime (especially when batteries are a little low) it misses letters
- especially on the desktop, an extra two wires aren't going to effect it much

laptops maybe different but i would like you would just use a mouse and not the keyboard with a laptop, for desktops i think sticking with the wires is a good option.
How often do you replace them though?

I experience the failure as well when the batteries are low, on the mouse as well, but then again any device begins to fail when the batteries are low. I guess for desktops it makes more sense to stick with wired, since it's not even much of a hassle as you said, since you won't be moving your desktop around.

I got the wireless keyboard/mouse combo for a good price, so that's probably why I have no complaints, and the fact that the laptop built in mouse is not great for gaming Tongue

OUCH!

my apple wireless keyboard i have repleaced the battires once (in the past 2 weeks) and i've had it for 9 months, use it daily.

got a Microsoft wireless mouse for my windows based computers, changed the battries 5 times in 3 years, not to bad, only thing is, it's fecking impossible to get he battries out

dude just stick with the wired, you'll never have downtime Wink
True but I feel wireless keyboards are more comfortable since you can move them around and place em wherever you want. It gives you more flexibility well at least until the batteries die out Tongue
i'm using a bluetooth mighty mouse and havent changed the battery in 4 months
I would tell you to stick with bluetooth for wireless as it is less consumption on power etc and they tend to last longer and better range then wireless ones that use IR
It can be good for laptop but I dont prefer them for desktop PC. The battery finishes very quickly and also the signals aren't very good sometimes.

However if I have big screen monitor (like 29"), then it would be great to have wireless keyboard.
