I got Vista Home Premium, it's pretty good, but I think it takes a little bit longer to load than XP Pro did , under similar conditions like ram and such.
Anyway, I've only used it for gaming, but I did try some regular programs like AbiWord, VideoLan, DivX Player, FileZilla, GAIM
As for games, Vice City worked, Steam worked, along with the Steam games I tried.

thanks for the review NJer, I read that someone recommended that vista needed 4gb of ram to run well!
Here's an update, Yahoo Messenger glitches, like you can't minimize it, since it keeps coming back on it's own. And the latest Live Messenger DOESN'T work. I installed it, and it opens up fine, but once I try to log on, it crashes. This is under Vista Home Premium.
lol, Microsoft's own programs doesn't even work with their own sofware.
Yep.how ironic. Anyway, I just downloaded the latest video card drivers for Vista, and I can now use OpenGL without a problem now, before I would get error msgs. when using it.
The way it's going now, anything that's failing, you'll have to wait till a new release, that will hopefully fix the problem and work on Vista, how it's suppose to. Printers are a problem as well, I tried installing one, and it kept freezing on me. So I guess I'll have to wait for some new drivers, or that Vista fixes the conflict.
But the good news, it hasn't frozen entirely yet, and no blue screen of death

It has that lockdown thing, that when anything freezes, only that freezes and doesn't disturb your OS, so CTRL ALT DEL still has some use.
Ive used Vista quiet a bit so far, people keep coming to me with it, with problems.
It looks flashy, but its really nothing specila, it uses too much resources and I cant see real advantages over windows XP its justa bit easier and prettier. Im not saying ita a complete failure there are a few good features. But all the good features it was supposed to have IE WINFS havent been included they say they will be in SP1.
So in conclusion, would I spend money on buying Vista? Hell no.
I have windows vista business. its good but not anything spectacular over xp
What's the best feature that you get out of Business, which the others lack? I'm using Premium, and haven't really noticed anything spectacular that Home wouldn't have.
i have ultimate edition, it;s pants, keeps freezing when connecting to a networking, just under par imo.
The only thing that might force anyone to upgrade are some new games coming out for the PC, mainly Halo 2. Oh yeah and games that use DX10. Other than that, I see no real advantage yet, well at least until XP is no longer supported.
