Is it normal for a video card to freeze your PC after having your PC on for more than about 3-4 hours?

I haven't been using it for gaming either, just normal use, web surfing etc. At first I thought it was my RAM or processor, but I removed my video card, and I haven't been experiencing any problems. So it had to have been of my video card. It has a built in fan.

Thanks,
hmm, it definatly isn't normal.  i have run my computer for 12 hours + for the last three years and never experienced any problems with my video card.

it sounds like it is over heating and cutting out but not really sure. have you tried it in another computer?
Nah, because my other computers are older, and don't even have an AGP slot lol.

That same card burned out on me about a month ago though, but I got it replaced by the manufacturer. So it's probably just that the card isn't that good. I'm only going to use it when I plan to play a game, or use a program that will require it that's the best solution for now. However, I'm thinking of getting another fan as that might help.
Nope, not normal. But I definately think that it is a overheating problem in your computer. How are you so sure it is your video card anyway?
Turns out it was an overheating problem with the video card. I installed an extra fan, and it hasn't been giving me any problems for the last days. The reason I was so sure was because I have an onboard card, so when I took out the AGP card, my PC didn't freeze at all. But when I left the card in, after a while my PC would freeze.
ya when stuff crashes like that after a certain amount of time its almost always overheating.
