I'm sorry if this is a little of forum topic, but I'd like to know more about how domains are registered. You see, I want to have my own sorta store that registers domain names (for 5 dollars a year) and that would have a control panel for editing the domain's settings. For now, it would be just a domain registration site, and I'd like to know how it's done, and how I could make my own domain name registration website with a editing control panel. Can anyone sort of tell me basically everthing I can possibly know about domain names and their registration? I'm fairly new to domain names, but I do know coding.
i am not 100% but there are companies which you can use, similar to something like a money transfers online with world pay or something.

i don't sell domains but i use clientexec and in there, there are options to use the following registrars for domain registration:
- Directi
- Enom

you may want to research them further because i think that is the root you have to go.
So just Google "how to register a domain name" or something like that?
yes that would be good.

i would advise purchasing a billing system such as modernbill or clientexec.

then registering an account with http://www.enom.com/ or http://www.directi.com/.

then any domains purchased from you would be purchased from them.  so you effectively resell the domains.

as i said i have never sold domains before so googling would be good.  i am sure there are sites dedicated to this topic.
Alright thanks a million Dave.
Sorry for the double post, but registering a domain name (google search) comes up with millions of companies that want you to buy their domain names. Any other good keywords?
i added a merger Tongue

i found this - http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php...ng+domains

which seems to be a person in a similar positions as you.
