I just got a mini dv camera, and i was wondering how to check if I have a firewire card.
Its pretty urgent, as i need to transfer data, so the quicker the better.

i have a firewire port on my pc and to be honest i haven't noticed much difference when connecting my ipod to it.
can't you just look on the back on your machine to check if you have a port for a firewire? it should be this shape -

Oh, is that the shape of firewire! I wonder what the hell i've been looking at then cause it was totally different to that, it was round with pin slots.
lol, are you sure thats not the port for your mouse or keyboard?
