Hi,

I am starting a couple of new sites and was wondering which brings more money in on google adsense.

textual or image adverts.

i would assume image ads but i am not sure.

I would assume image ads because they draw the viewer's eye more than text ones do.

I'm on the web quite often, and my eye is trained to just not pay attention to image ads.text ads would work better on me.  I do believe however, if you put the image ad where my eye wouldn't be used to seeing an ad, I might read it not knowing it is an ad. woah that was a mouthful

Text ads have a higher CTR in general. But you have to place them the right places then.
You just have to make sure your ads don't look like ads, but like real content from your site.

I never return to sites that do this. That's unethical as hell.

Personally I like Image ads, I think they are better suited for my websites atleast!

It depends on what type of website. For some sites image ads will grab the attention more, while for others the text ads (if the colors match the overall design) will perform better.

its for a free online flash games arcade.

i would think images would be better to attract your attention from the games but they have low crt compared to textual.

you could try them both and rotate them using a php program.

i think text ads will do much better.
