i don't use any programs.

just make sure your site is.
well coded
well marked up (h1 for header, p for paragraph etc)
lots of links to it (a network is often good)
regular content updates.

by doing them you should do well.  i have doubts whether any of these sorts of seo programs work and remember some actually damage your google pr.

actually, the the program i have mentioned is not automatic link creator or anything of that sort. It is a page anazlyer. For instance, it lets you know what your keyword density is. For most websites, especially forums, the keyword density is too low, so it shows the problem with your website regarding specific keyword.

It also lets you know how you are ranked in each of the major search engines, how you can improve metaphrase tags to improve SEO rankings, and compare your site content regarding the SEO with your competitors.

So i really can only see benefits of using these SEO analyzation programs.

Doesn't dreamweaver do all of that?

My suggestion is to search yourself on google and learn yourself. I learned a lot from web related forums and other resources. It is the only way we can learn. Simply paying some amount to SEO will not be helpful always. It may be helpful for some time not every time.

I was very frustrated from last few months because I was not getting much in return for my efforts. I tried everything like directory submissions to each free directory listed here but results were not good, then I decided to give these SEO experts a try and saw better results (in the PR update happened 3-4 days ago from this post).

So basically, hiring for SEO isn't bad thing until you choose correct people and always take recommendations before trying these out because there are many fraud ones present beside the good ones.

Well if you can do it yourself, it saves you money, and is better in the long run.

However, if you don't have the time to do it, but have the money, then hire someone. It took me a while to get PR in the beginning, but now I got the hang of it, and working my way up to the top. However, PR (Page Rank) is only one of the factors in SEO. The other one is getting relevant visitors from the Search Engines.
