Blender is not the easyist of graphics programs to use!

sorry I couldn't be of anymore help Tongue
http://getpaint.net/index2.html

that isn't bad, kinda like a free version of photoshop and runs well.

i think it depends on what you want to do to what you should use.  i am not keen on opensource ones so use photoshop and i would urge you to use that if you really want to enhance an image.

for 3d software i used prodesktop at school a few years ago, think that is free.  solidworks is also a good program (i studied that for a year on a course).
Whats Blender like?

Hmm, never heard of Blender to be honest. I don't like GIMP though. It's so basic. There are ways to get Adobe Photoshop for free though. I'd rather not talk about that though :p

you can legaly have a 30 day trial, otherwise it is bittorrent Tongue

Lee Irfanview is amazing eh? i had close to 500 images all needed to be converted to another format, renamed, and resized, and it did them in maybe 4-5 minutes. What a time saver!
I think TheGIMP is as close as you can get to photoshop without spending money!

hasn't a new version of paint come out recently?

i always say to myself to try different softwares out but since i have photoshop i tend to not bother.  if you are a person who just pays with pictures and stuff there is no point in spending money for photo editing software.
