I was listening to a podcast today and thought a few points of zune were good and worth telling people.

- it is twice the depth of the ipod!  although it does have a nice plastic rubber cover.

- along with it being bigger, it is also heavier (a lot more heavier).

- if you purchased any songs from the MSN music store, they are incompatible with zune so basically a waste of money!

- unlike itunes when you purchase songs from the zune music shop you need to purchase points (obviously a minimum of $5 so they can hold your money).  And even weirder points do not equal money.  So a song is $0.99 which is 79 points (weird!).

- The wi-fi is worthless - you can only send songs to people and the other person can only play them 5 times or 3 days (which ever is first)! and no internet connection to browse the web

- the zune is not compatible with windows media player at all!

- it is a closed system so say goodbye if you want to transfer songs to some other device.

- $1 is going to Universal for each Zune sold as they say it will cause pirate much so paying universal in compensation.

All of that looks like it will never beat the ipod, right?

ye it will but you would think they would use the latest and greatest technology available, but they are obviously not.

one of the joys of microsoft software is its monopoly of them and how they are all compatible with eachothers.  i mean not windows media player compatible or msn purchased songs cannot be transferred is just plain stupid.

Can you just download music from something like iMesh and put it on the Zune?

nope, i think the only place which will support music is their own shop.

not even the msn music will be supported!

Thats crap, I will go with the ipod

indeed, sound like it is going to be a big failure unless they get their act together.

i think that has problems.  crashed 4 times when i was playing it last week!  plus it had problems with over heating when it first came out.
