Lately the majority of my sites don't function as they should in IE5.

Certian codes such as margin:auto to centre a page doesn't work.

Does IE5 support css2 or xhtml?

it seems to partially support both but if i change the coding e.g. drop down menu it won't work in all the others so i have ended up making another style sheet just for it.

i found today around 5% of people STILL use IE5!

someone should have a massive firefox compaign.  IE is just a joke!
IE5 is 4% and you should only worry if your taget market is using it. and if they are, theres ways around it.
well i obviously target the design market so the majority won't if not all won't be using it but some sites i am designing for do require it.  4% doesn't sound many but when you are designing for a site with 1 millions hits a month it is a lot of people.

i am making it a cut down version i think.  too much hassle to get it working perfectly.
IE5 is not CSS friendly at all (even version 6 has short falls), so long as your page can be understood with the CSS file not in use you should be ok. Same applies to mobiles etc. IE7 should be much better for us than MS' previous attempts.
Has anyone tried css in IE7, From what I've seen in the beta, it still looked the same.
it has improved, but nothing to get excited about.
I have been using IE7 as my main browsr for about four months to identify any issues, so far the only thing I have seen that it is more forgiving than IE6. Had to put the occasional CSS hack in but nothing major and hoping that this will be resolved by the time the final release comes out.

Has anyone had any major re-work on previous projects after reviewing a site in IE7?
i haven'thad any problems with it.  i am not sure if it is more forgiving but seems to the same.  i did have problems with a dropdown menu which was working in all the others but that and IE5 but i think that could have been down to my coding not the browser
