I think flash looks better, but in terms of simplicity, it has to be HTML. HTML can at least be indexed, unlike flash which requires a lot of work to make it appear in search engines.
Well, Flast websites are genreally used to sell something, nothing else, they look amazing and it helps the product to sell. Flash websites are hard to keep up to date, genreally the designer and developer of it have to update it. where as with a html website like this
http://www.joshuaink.com/ not only does it look amazing, it can be kept up to date with a CMS and is index by spiders as well as being accessible.
WOW!
that website is class. is it your site?
i love the flower things, must have took ages to make them (plus its british :p always a plus).
No it isn't mine, i don't have the patience to do that.
i do follow the designer tho, as well as a few others.
This is imo the best flash site on the internet
http://www.ikea.com/ms/sv_SE/kampanj/fy0...omkok.html
it is truely amazing.
i don't know if you have heard of the flash guru? but basically he is the best of the best, and his site isn't even in flash. there truely is no need for it unless you want to advertise something.
That is pretty sweet

EDIT: Its amazing
after i worked out what it does (i am slow) i smiled straight away.
that is sooooooooo kwl.
lol, so i guess it took you a while

i think a combination if good but i prefer to stick to either html or flash and not a combination.
although there are problems with flash such as not indexing on searches, accesability; it is a very good way to promote a product. i love flash and the things you can do.
i disagree with the loading time. it is slower to being with but the sites are a lot more interactive and graphical. plus you don't need to wait for every page you click to load as it has all been done before hand.
I like flash for intros, but I hate intros, D'oh!
I like flash for games and video (like youtube). Full Flash websites, I always close the website.
thats the same with me, although because i look at the site from a designers perspective i always admire the amount of work which has gone into some of these flash websites.
